In 2008, Tehya's Critical Care Nurse nominated her as a Make-A-Wish recipient. For years, she declined their offers, saying there were other kids who needed their wishes granted more than she. We finally convinced her to accept her wish, but only after we promised that it would go to benefit her charity, Tehyathon.

What is Tehya's Wish?

It's been her dream to create and produce the first annual Tehyathon Fundraising Event in San Diego, which would allow family and friends of all ages and abilities to fundraise for Tehyathon as honorary Athletes for the Day. We invision a sporting event with races of different challenges and lengths. We plan to have vendor booths, food & drinks, and live music and dancing.OTD and Make-A-Wish want to make Tehya's dream come true! How Does it Work?

Founder and CEO, Melissa Adao, along with Executive Director Sara Orbita run a non-profit organization called Outreach Through Dance. They "adopted" Tehya as their 2012 wish kid, and on Sept. 30, 2012, over 200 dancers, having volunteered countless hours of their time. They came together for two special performances dedicated to Tehya and choreographed their pieces using Tehya and her wish as the inspiration for their performances.

OTD will donate 50% of ticket sales to Make-A-Wish, in honor of granting Tehya's wish.
