The Tehyathon program that is nearest and dearest to Tehya's heart is the Tenderness Totes program. It only seemed fitting that Tehyathon's Youth Group would be in charge of this important and worthy mission.
Tenderness Totes are small "survival packs" for the homeless. These pre-assembled tote bags contain food, water, and toiletries and are designed to be stored in a vehicle and given to a person in need at a moment’s notice. 
Tenderness Totes are created and assembled by Spina Bifida patients and by members of Tehyathon's Youth Group. Each is fashioned with a note card containing various messages of encouragement and hope for the recipient. We affectionately refer to them as our "Tote Notes" and each one contains an inspirational picture or message that was drawn to express the child's wishes for each recipient.
Information for local shelters, soup kitchens, medical care, psychiatric care, and other community service organizations are also printed on the back of each notecard. It is our intention to fill each totebag with most, if not all of the items listed below. There may be times that we are unable to obtain all of the items, but we will do our best with what we have to offer.
Contributions made to Tehyathon allow us to purchase the supplies needed to produce and distribute Tenderness Totes to those in need.
